Dürnbacher Klaus Beck replaces the FWG Hans Seemüller in the municipal council.

Council colleagues paid tribute to the departed.

Fischbachau – At the most recent meeting of the Fischbachau municipal council, Klaus Beck (FWG) was sworn in as a new member of the committee by Mayor Stefan Deingruber (CSU).

The 65-year-old from Dürnbach succeeds Hans Seemüller on the board and takes over his place on the finance committee as well as deputizing for Simon Irger (FWG) on the audit committee.

Beck ran for the FWG for the first time in the 2014 local elections.

Since 2019 he has been the second board member of the community.

In the 2020 local elections, he got 1,277 votes despite being at the bottom of the list, which would have been enough for all other parties and associations to enter the municipal council.

For the FWG, which was very strong in this election, it was just not enough.

As the FWG candidate with the most votes who is not yet a member of the municipal council, Beck is now moving up to the committee.

He said to our newspaper: "I would like to thank each of my voters for their trust."

Beck is deeply networked in Fischbachau club life.

The former player of the Sportfreunde Fischbachau and referee for many years is also active as a board member of the Liedertafel and as a board member of the Elbach Theater Association.

Beck is now looking forward to working on the municipal council.

The debate about the increase in prices at the planned show mine in the Deisenried weather tunnel (we reported) at the most recent meeting made it clear again how many aspects local politics have to consider, says Beck: "It's very interesting how you proceed in such situations."

Despite all the anticipation of the work, the reason for moving up - Seemüller's illness - makes Beck sad: "I would have preferred it if Hans could have continued," he says.

Over the decades, he has come to know and appreciate Seemüller as a well-considered conversational partner.

Other council members made similar comments.

Bernhard Padeller (FaB) thanked Seemüller for the 14 years together on the committee.

He presented his views in such a considered manner that both often continued talking for hours after meetings.

"Belief in the good in people was always Hans' guiding principle," said Padeller.

"I wish him well."
