The Warngau municipal council has now given the municipal blessing to the planning application for the extension of the Marstaller workshops in Osterwarngau.

One detail is still a thorn in the side of some.

Warngau

– Big things are about to happen on the outskirts of Osterwarngau: A new building, almost 40 meters long, on the west side of the existing company headquarters is to create space for further development and production areas, offices, a shop and a small day café for customers – in addition to an underground car park with 21 Parking spaces and a heating house for a wood chip heating system.

The new building docks onto the existing building via a connecting structure with a flat roof.

The existing barn on the former south-west corner of the area facing the street gives way to the expansion.

A clear commitment from the Läuger family, the owner family, to the location of the Marstaller workshops, which have been based here since 1943 and are known for high-quality leather goods.

While the process of drawing up an inclusion statute, which is intended to create building rights for the project, is still ongoing, the municipal council has now received the planning application.

Nothing has changed in the planning by the Schliersee architect Johannes Wegmann, which was coordinated with the district building authority, since it was presented to the municipal council in December.

The flat roof on the connecting building between the new and old building was a thorn in the side of some members of the committee at the time: some people wished for a saddle roof that was supposedly more typical of the region.

"I think it's a shame that no one thought about it," Anton Bader (FWG) complained, "it doesn't look the same."

Ernst Bauer from the municipality's technical building authority recalled that a visual break was wanted at this point.

This is to prevent the mighty building from merging into a massive mass.

As a suggestion for quality, Josef Gschwendtner (FWG) brought up wooden cladding for the connecting construction, as will also be found on the large new building.

"That would soften the look of the concrete block," agreed Mayor Klaus Thurnhuber (FWG), who wants to take up the suggestion.

"We still have that in our hands in the statutes." Meanwhile, Michael Spannring (Greens) campaigned for trust in the renowned architect: "I don't think it's right that we quickly, quickly and simply see things differently with our less great expertise." The suggestion can be coordinated with the architect and client.

All in all, however, the municipal council had no objections to the planning for the expansion of the Marstaller workshops - on the contrary, the project is definitely welcome.

The committee therefore unanimously approved the building application – as well as the separate building application for the boiler house, which is planned to be a good 21 by eight meters north of the new building.
