The spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, condemned the announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities to establish 4,000 settlement units in separate areas in the West Bank, stressing that it constitutes a violation of international law.

In a statement carried by the Palestinian Wafa Agency, Abu Rudeineh warned the Israeli occupation authorities against continuing to seize Palestinian lands and displacing them from it, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and implement its relevant decisions to stop settlements and end the occupation.

Abu Rudeineh indicated that the settlement occupation plan aims to demolish about 12 Palestinian villages, displace more than 4,000 Palestinians, including 500 children, and seize 22,000 dunums of land south of Jericho, in addition to separating the occupied city of Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings.

In turn, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' announcement of the establishment of thousands of new settlement units in the occupied West Bank, stressing that they constitute a blatant challenge to the international community.

The Foreign Ministry said that the occupation’s announcement of the establishment of thousands of settlement units in the West Bank aims to perpetuate settlement operations and establish thousands of settlement outposts and annihilate more Palestinian lands there, calling on the international community to take immediate action to pressure the occupation to stop its crimes and hold those responsible to account.
