The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that the Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 plane and intercepted two Ukrainian Smirch missiles near the city of Izyum in the Kharkov province.
"The Russian missile and artillery forces targeted 232 sites of the Ukrainian forces using high-precision missiles, including 22 command posts, 207 Ukrainian military concentrations and 3 ammunition depots," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said in a statement this evening.
Konashenkov added: "Our air defenses destroyed 7 Ukrainian drones over the towns of Liptsy in the Kharkov region, Sladko and Dugut in the Donetsk People's Republic, Tretyakovka and Varvarovka in the Lugansk People's Republic and near the island of Zminy."
