Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that reaching a sustainable and strong agreement in the Vienna nuclear negotiations needs a realistic and courageous US decision, calling on Washington to compensate for its wrong approach.

The Iranian news agency IRNA reported that Abdullahian, in a phone call today with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, criticized the recent US Congress decision on the nuclear deal, saying that "reaching a sustainable, strong and fair agreement requires a realistic and courageous decision by the US government to compensate for the wrong approach." Previous".

Yesterday, the US Congress voted on a draft resolution setting new conditions for reviving the nuclear agreement with Iran.

Abdollahian referred to the "continued exchange of messages between Iran and the United States through the European Union" within the framework of the Vienna negotiations, noting that "the policy of maximum pressure imposed by Washington is the reason behind the current situation."

Abdullahian confirmed yesterday that the Vienna negotiations to revive the nuclear agreement did not stop, but are still continuing through the exchange of written messages with the Americans through a European mediator, with the aim of removing the unilateral embargo imposed on Iran.
