“If people didn't mail in their ballot on time and they still have it, then they can go to the polling place and talk to the judge at that polling place, return the mail ballot for the judge to cancel and that way they can vote in person,” said Norma Arratia of the League of Women Voters of Dallas.
the voting sites
On the website of the Texas Secretary of State you can find information about the polling place where you must vote.
If your county participates in the County's Polling Place Program (CWPP) you will be able to vote at any of the vote centers in that county.
If your county does not participate in the program, then you will need to go to your assigned precinct.
For example, in Dallas, you can vote at any polling place in the county, even if you are registered at a specific one.
Polls open on May 7 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
“If this afternoon and you see that there is a line at the polling place, come and line up, anyway, you have the right to enter and you have the right to cast your vote.
Even if they are at the end of the line, as long as it is before 7:00 pm, they are respected,” said Norma Arratia, of the League of Women Voters of Dallas.
To vote in these Texas municipal elections, people must be US citizens.
It is not enough to reside in the state.
