How playgrounds for houses with more than three apartments are designed is to be laid down in a statute in the future.

At the request of the ALS, the city council passed a corresponding decision in principle.

Schongau

- In buildings with more than three apartments, a sufficiently large playground must automatically be created.

This is defined in the Bavarian building regulations.

How exactly it should look like is currently not defined in Schongau.

Daniela Puzzovio (ALS) explained that municipalities have the option of drawing up their own statutes for the design of these private children's playgrounds.

And that's what the city should do, according to the parliamentary group, which had submitted a motion for a policy resolution that the city council ultimately unanimously agreed to.

At the same time, as Puzzovio explained at the most recent city council meeting, the statutes could also specify what transfer fee is due if the client cannot build a playground.

Homeowners can hand over the obligation to the municipality against payment of a certain amount.

If exemption is paid, that money is also used for children

"The money doesn't go anywhere, but is used again by the city for children or young people," explained Puzzovio.

For example, income could be generated for further investment in municipal playgrounds.

Failure to comply with the statute will result in fines for homeowners, which the city should also regulate uniformly.

In the run-up to the meeting, Puzzovio had looked at various playground statutes from other communities and attached the application with the existing statutes from Marktl (2790 inhabitants) and Obergünzburg (6402 inhabitants) as examples.

In order for the administration to have as little work as possible with the statutes, they offered to develop them themselves as far as possible.

Work through a long list of priorities

She is aware that there are already many projects on the priority list that the city would like to tackle.

"But it's about the welfare of the children."

In view of the three motions on the agenda, Mayor Falk Sluyterman had warned at the beginning of the discussion that motions should be dealt with restrictively, since each one meant work for the administration.

Always bringing something new slows down the entire system.

"I don't want to take away anyone's right to apply.

But with every new application something slides down the priority list.

That is part of honesty.”

Should also apply to changes in use

City councilor Sebastian Dietrich announced which project should be placed where on the list of priorities.

In terms of content, the motion for playground statutes is supported and welcomed in principle, according to Dietrich.

He sees the advantage of a statute in the fact that a standard is created that applies to everyone and leads to justice and comparability.

He suggested first discussing the elaboration with the Building and Environment Committee.

Hans Rehbehn (CSU) wanted to know whether the playground statutes including playground fee only apply to new buildings or existing buildings.

That is what the statutes, which still have to be worked out, explained Dietrich.

However, the claim is that it not only applies to new buildings, but also to changes in use, so in this case it also affects existing buildings.
