UK local elections: a stinging loss to conservatives in London;
Historic victories for Labor
For the first time, the Labor Party won in Westminster County, a county where most government institutions are located.
Conservatives have also lost in the Barnett district of London, a conservative outpost since 1964. The results reflect public outrage over the prime minister's breach of the law during the Corona closures

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party lost last night (Thursday) to traditional outposts in London and suffered losses across the country in local council elections, according to preliminary results, amid a series of current government affair.
Johnson's party was ousted in Wandsworth, a conservative outpost since 1978, as part of a trend of voters in the capital who used the election to express their anger over the prime minister's cost of living and breach of closures during the Corona.
For the first time, the Labor Party won in Westminster County, a county where most government institutions are located.
Conservatives have also lost in the Barnett borough, another outpost since 1964.
"Great results. Just great. Believe me, this is a significant turning point for us from the depths of the 2019 general election," Labor leader Kir Stramer told party supporters in London.

The final results in the local elections are expected later and will provide the most important assessment of public opinion since Johnson and his party won with the largest majority in 30 years in the 2019 election.
Preliminary results show that despite losses in traditional conservative outposts in the south, support for the party remained strong in central and northern England who supported Brexit in 2016.
Johnson is the first British prime minister in history to break the law while in office.
He was fined last month for attending his 2020 birthday party during the Corona closure.
The Conservatives suffered a scorching loss in London, where they were virtually wiped out.
Outside of London, Johnson retained control of Southampton, Worcester, and West Oxford.
7,000 seats were up for election yesterday, including in London, Scotland and Wales.
