Ukraine continues to prepare for "Victory Day" to be marked by Russia on May 9, for fear of escalating Russian military activity in the south and east of the country - in order to present the Russian public with a picture of victory.
In Odessa a curfew has been announced that will begin this evening (Sunday) and end on Tuesday for fear of Russian action.
The city has already been the scene of cruise missile attacks in the past month.
In the city itself life goes on almost as usual.
The historic quarter of the city was closed already at the beginning of the fighting by the army forces, and sandbags adorn the impressive squares and monuments of the old center.
In markets and bus stops across the city, however, crowds took advantage of the spring sun yesterday to stock up on shopping before the curfew went into effect.
"People are no longer afraid, but they want to be ready," says Anna, a seller of vegetables and herbs at the city's largest market in Fribos. "We have already seen everything in this war. We can no longer be surprised."
No longer afraid, buyers in the market,
In the afternoon, alarms and echoes of explosions were already heard in the city.
Local residents reported seeing trails indicating the operation of the air defense system.
The media later reported that at least four cruise missiles were fired at an airport near the city.
"Do not get excited, it is very normal here," explains Anton, a volunteer in the Territorial Defense Forces, who agreed to escort me back to the hotel.
I tell him I'm from Israel and he laughs, "Well, then you're supposed to be used to things like that, it's a pity we don't have an Iron Dome system."
In the occupied part of Ukraine it was reported that the Russian army had removed officers and fighters from the fighting front in order to secure the Victory Day parade in Mariupol.
The remains of the Ukrainian army are still being fortified in the city.
In Kiev, the study of the battles noted that the parade was intended to broadcast in their house that the war is being conducted as a series.
However, the Russian military continues to discriminate, especially in northern Ukraine.
In Kharkiv Oblast, the Ukrainians managed to reconquer six villages and towns north and east of the country's second largest city.
In addition, a British military intelligence report revealed on Saturday that the Russians are suffering from the erosion of advanced weapons in the absence of missing electronic components due to Western sanctions on Russia.
Also, the Ukrainian army has carried out ongoing attacks against the air defense system on Snake Island, south of Odessa, and may even try to occupy it back from the Russians in commando operation.
