An Egyptian officer and ten other soldiers were killed, while five others were wounded today in a terrorist attack east of the Suez Canal area in Sinai, eastern Egypt.
And the Seventh Day website quoted Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez, the military spokesman for the armed forces, as saying, "A group of terrorist takfiri elements attacked the water lifting point east of the canal, and the elements assigned to work at the point were engaged and confronted by them," noting that the attack resulted in the killing of an officer and 10 soldiers. 5 people were injured.
The spokesman added that the pursuit of terrorist elements is still going on, and that they are being besieged in one of the isolated areas in Sinai.
