Eintracht Braunschweig has not yet made the direct return to the 2nd Bundesliga perfect.
Coach Michael Schiele's team lost 2:3 (1:2) at SV Meppen on Saturday and thus initially missed out on promotion.
However, it is still up to Braunschweig to secure second place.
A win against Viktoria Köln next Saturday and Eintracht is back in the second division.
Meppen – Even if Kaiserslautern doesn't win at Viktoria Köln this Sunday, the rise of Eintracht would be certain.
After Thilo Leugers (2nd minute, penalty kick) and Richard Sukuta Pasu (16th) had given the hosts the lead, Lion Lauberbach (34th) and Jan Hendrik Marx (68th) equalized for the favorite.
Substitute René Guder (87th) secured a counterattack for the Emsländer victory, who had previously not won twelve games.
And that despite the fact that the hosts were outnumbered in the final phase.
Max Dombrowka saw yellow-red in the 79th minute.
