Tegernsee – Pupils of the P-Seminar at the Gymnasium Tegernsee founded their own company as part of the "Business@School" competition.

What many only know from television has now become reality for 17 students of the P-Seminar at the Tegernsee Gymnasium as part of the "Business@School" competition.

After months of familiarization, preparation and finally fictitious founding of their own companies, they had to present them to representatives of the regional economy and the savings bank.

At “Business@School” young people at grammar schools are familiarized with business life.

The project is structured in three stages.

First, the students have to work in individual working groups to analyze large listed corporations such as Airbus, Adidas or Zalando using the annual reports and websites.

Founded four companies

In a second step, small, regional companies are considered.

Finally, they start their own company.

They not only have to find a name and the future product of their company, but also choose the company form, create a sales and profit plan and develop marketing concepts.

  • With "Sportbox", a vending machine solution for sporting goods, "Sport Scout", a scouting agency for footballers and tennis players, and "Fit For Rent", a rental company for fitness bikes, the focus for young people was particularly in the sports industry.

  • The fourth company that was founded was "Yana", short for "You Are Not Alone".

"Yana" offers its customers jewelry that contains a computer chip.

As soon as an emergency situation arises, you can send a message to five previously selected contacts by pressing the jewel.

The founders not only developed an overall concept, but also made a prototype of the future product.

Winner at the regional decision in Ottobrunn

After their presentation, all teams had to justify their business idea to the jury.

The experts analyzed the companies from the ground up.

After the so-called pitches, the team that the jury found most convincing with its business idea was chosen as the winner.

The team from "Yana" won.

The founders will thus represent the Tegernsee Gymnasium at the regional decision in Ottobrunn and, if they are successful in the state competition, will compete with other grammar schools.

"When I see how the students have developed during the project period, you can see so much potential for their future - and I'm incredibly proud of that," said Elisabeth Hartwig, Director of Studies.

She led the project at the Tegernsee school.
