There was a lot of interest at the job fair in the middle school in Dorfen.

Many jobs in crafts, trade and administration open up for young people.

Companies that make an outstanding contribution to interns were recognised.

Dorfen

– Look, talk, consider your own future: At this year's job fair in the middle school in Dorfen, the students were able to make personal contact with many companies again and get orientation for their later career after graduation.

The trade is still "golden", said district master craftsman Rudolf Waxenberger in greeting.

"The need for trainees is great, a career in the trade is certain." There are 130 trades, according to the master bricklayer.

Apprenticeships as joiners or carpenters are still popular, he reported.

"The craft is creative and diverse, there are many possibilities."

Stefan Tremmel, chairman of the Förderkreis Dorfen, was delighted with the many interested students at the stands.

In addition to trade and commerce, social institutions such as the Dorfener Marienstift or the Isar-Amper-Klinikum Taufkirchen were also represented, as well as the city, the district and the police for their industries.

"We can finally call out to young people again: We have interesting training positions for you.

In many professions, young people are desperately needed,” said Tremmel.

The websites www.taufkirchen-bildet-aus.de and www.dorfen-bildet-aus.de are online, where current job offers can be found, advertised the managing director of the Heuschneider market.

Mayor Heinz Grundner thanked headmaster Rainer Sonnleitner for the offer that the Dorfen middle school makes every two years possible for the graduates.

"Even if it is always suggested that everyone needs a high school diploma and that people only start with the state examination, as it used to be called - that's simply not true." Of course there is also the possibility of going to a secondary school after the qualifying middle school certificate, but also it is possible to take advantage of numerous further training opportunities after an apprenticeship.

"You can now put your future on a track that you choose yourself," said the mayor.

And: "Go your own way and do what suits your inclinations."

Grundner paid tribute to three Dorfen partner companies that have looked after interns intensively in recent years so that the students can also get a taste of the practical side.

These include the Kramerei am Kreisel, the Rewe market and the Marienstift.

Marion Prey, manager of the retirement home, was very happy about this award.

It is always an additional effort when an intern is in the house.

"But it's important to show students that jobs in geriatric care are great fun." Prey immediately campaigned for interns: "Even if you don't choose this profession later, you'll definitely have grandma and grandpa too."

Headmaster Sonnleitner advised: "Take the opportunity today and find out about different professions."

Which they did then.

However, many of them have long had a plan for how they want to shape their lives after they graduate: Jennifer, for example, will continue with school and go to the vocational school in Erding.

Most of her friends also know what they want to do later: Leonie has an apprenticeship as a teacher, Miriam goes into childcare, Klara wants to do a voluntary year in the administration of the town of Dorfen.
