The passengers tried to emigrate from the country because of the difficult economic situation, but the ship capsized in the middle of the sea • Now Lebanese officials are facing public outrage

The Mufti of Tripoli, Sheikh Muhammad Imam, was recently attacked in connection with the sinking of an immigrant ship off the coast of the country.

The Mufti was on his way to a mosque in Tripoli in the morning, testified to al-Peter, when a woman approached him and shouted at him, "Our children are at the bottom of the sea," while she tried to throw water balloons at him, before security guards drove her away.

In another case, a Member of Parliament in the city cut a cake when a woman burst out at her and exclaimed, "Do you know that there are children who are missing and their families are still mourning when you celebrate?".

Public outrage arose following the tragedy that occurred in April.

Dozens of Lebanese boarded a ship to immigrate to Turkey because of the difficult economic situation.

But the ship sank off the coast of Tripoli, at least seven of the passengers perished and many others are still missing.

The dozens of other passengers rescued and returned to the shores of Lebanon failed to bring comfort.

The families of the dead have called for a day of rage following the disaster in the shadow of the survivors' testimonies that the Lebanese navy caused to sink the ship.

The military, on the other hand, claimed that the ship's captain made dangerous maneuvers to escape, and she capsized because she was carrying too many people.
