On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, the Governorate of Damascus Countryside honored 705 of the families and families of the martyrs in the governorate, within a ceremony held today at the Conferences Palace, during which artistic paragraphs and poems chanted the love of the homeland and the value of martyrdom, presented by the branch of the Vanguards of the Ba’ath Organization in Damascus Countryside.

In statements to SANA, a number of the families of the martyrs expressed their pride and pride in the martyrdom of their sons, stressing that they will remain a beacon for future generations. Ahmed Abdel-Hadi from Yalda, Youssef Mufleh from Al-Bitaria and Fatima Kilani from Eastern Ghouta indicated that honoring the families of the martyrs is a distinct gesture that expresses their interest and support while Hiyam Othman from Mazraat Beit Jinn and Ali Marei from Zabadani pointed out that the blood of their sons made victory and their sacrifice was for the sake of the homeland that nothing is above it.

In a speech during the honoring, Major General Bassam Berri, Director of the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Affairs, said: “Communicating with the families of the martyrs is a great honor for us, and the martyrs will remain firmly in the conscience, and that the sixth of May has an impact in the conscience and a home for peace in feelings, as the memory of the martyrs’ day is the most honorable in the world.” and the noblest of mankind.”

The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Eng. Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, stressed in his speech that the governorate is working to provide everything necessary to support the families of the martyrs, as days have been allocated to meet them and meet their demands, considering that this is the least duty towards those who tortured death as a sacrifice for the homeland.

For his part, the Director of the Martyrs' Office in the Damascus Countryside Governorate, Engineer Ahmed Kanaan, indicated that the governorate, through the Martyrs' Office, is following up on the affairs of the families of the martyrs, taking care of them and providing their needs.

The honoring was attended by the Ministers of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, and Agriculture, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, Social Affairs and Labor Muhammad Saif al-Din, the Secretary of the Damascus Countryside Branch, the Damascus University of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, a number of members of the People’s Assembly, officers of the Syrian Arab Army, members of the Executive Office and heads of local councils in Damascus countryside.
