Hamid Hosseini, head of the Iranian Derivatives Exporters' Association, announced today that exports of oil, gas and petrochemical derivatives amounted to $25 billion in the fiscal year ending on March 20, 2022.
"The country's total exports amounted to 48 billion dollars in the aforementioned year, and exports of oil, gas and petrochemical derivatives accounted for a significant share despite the embargo imposed on the country," Hosseini was quoted by the Iranian Fars news agency as saying in a statement today.
Hosseini indicated that it is expected that non-oil exports until the end of the current fiscal year on March 20, 2023 will exceed the level of 48 billion dollars, and that oil derivatives will account for about 58 percent of them.
Hosseini added that the increase in tar exports was less than 100,000 tons, but its value doubled, similar to oil, due to the rise in its global price. Last year, polymers were the highest exported at $3.77 billion.
