On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, the Technical Chess Committee in Lattakia held an open tournament for all groups in the chess hall at Al-Basel Stadium, with the participation of training centers.
Hamza Masoud won the first place, followed by Hisham Ghandour and Haidera Esber, and their positions were determined after a round of differentiation between them to equal them with a total of 6 points, while Tim Hassan came fourth, Qusay Omran fifth, Michel Gerji sixth and Ayman Habil seventh.
Head of the Individual Games Office and tournament supervisor, Hala Ismail, said in a statement to SANA that this tournament is useful to determine the level of the governorate’s players and was characterized by strength and excitement, and the centers were not determined until after rounds of differentiation between the players.
The championship was judged by Ali Zayti, Anam Hassan, Ferdous Rajab, Tayseer Ahmed, Muhammad Ali and Ali Hassan.
