The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of large quantities of American and Western weapons and military equipment in the Kharkov region with precision strikes by Iskander missiles.
"The Russian forces destroyed with high-precision Iskander missiles near the Krasnograd and Karlovka train stations in the Kharkov province, large quantities of weapons and military equipment that arrived from the United States and Western countries and eliminated large numbers of brigade personnel," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said in a press briefing this evening. Konashenkov said that near the island of Zminyi under its control, Russian forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-24 bomber, a Su-27 fighter and three Mi-8 helicopters carrying Ukrainian landing forces, and destroyed two Bayraktar TB2 drones and the Stanislav sea landing boat.
Russian forces took control of the island of Zmienni in the Odessa region on February 24, the first day of the Russian military operation, which confirms its strategic importance for the conduct of Russian operations, isolating Ukraine from the Black Sea and cutting off the supply of Western weapons to it.
The spokesman of the Ministry indicated that the Russian forces, with high-precision and long-range naval and air weapons, destroyed the air equipment of the Ukrainian Air Force, including drones, at military airfields near the cities of Artsyz and Odessa in the Odessa region and Voznesensk in the Nikolayev region.
Konashenkov confirmed that the Russian aerospace forces targeted with high-precision missiles 42 concentration areas of Ukrainian forces and military vehicles near the village of Volchiarovka in the Lugansk People's Republic and two ammunition depots near the city of Seversk in the Donetsk People's Republic.
Konashenkov pointed out that the Russian Air Force bombed 26 Ukrainian military targets during the day, including two command centers, 21 mobilization areas, combat vehicles, two ammunition depots and an artillery battery.
Konashenkov stated that the Russian missile and artillery forces targeted 31 command centers, 245 fortifications and mobilization areas for the Ukrainian army today.
In total, since the start of the military operation, the Russian forces destroyed 154 aircraft, 115 helicopters, 764 drones, 296 air defense missile systems, 2,902 tanks and armored vehicles, 333 rocket launchers, 1,378 artillery, in addition to 2,728 special military vehicles.
