A man was found on the floor of his bedroom. In another village they found a couple with signs of seizures. And there is another woman hospitalized. But no crime is suspected.

Three US citizens were found dead in a luxurious hotel in the Bahamas, called Sandals Emerald Bay, in circumstances that have not yet been established, while a fourth person, a woman, had to be hospitalized.

“It is with deep sadness that we confirm that three guests have passed away,” a representative for the hotel told People magazine on Friday night.

is located in a secluded area within 500 acres of tropical land.

Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper said in a statement posted on the social network Twitter that authorities do not suspect a crime.

The Royal Bahamas Police explained that they received the alert for "the sudden death" of the guests on Friday morning.

"Upon arrival at the scene, we were taken to a villa," he said in a statement on Twitter, "and upon entering a room, a Caucasian male was found lying on the floor with no signs of life" or signs of trauma.

In another villa they later found "a Caucasian man slumped against the wall in a bathroom." In the same room there was a woman: she was lying on the bed, also dead.

"Both individuals had signs of having suffered seizures," he reported.

Like the other man, they had no signs of trauma.

Investigators later discovered that the couple found in the second village had gone to a local medical center because they were not feeling well the night before.

At the moment, the results of the autopsies are awaited to determine why these people died and if there is a connection with that medical visit.

Hours later, the acting prime minister reported that there was a fourth person, a woman, who was hospitalized, but without specifying where she was found.

She was airlifted, she said, to a hospital in the capital, Nassau.

The hotel's owner, Sandals, operates several luxury resorts in Jamaica (where it is based), the Bahamas, and other Caribbean islands such as St. Lucia and Barbados.

The hotel said in a statement that "nothing is more important" than the health and safety of its guests, and said it will work with local authorities to clarify what happened.

"We are actively working to support both the investigation and the families of the guests in any way possible during this difficult time," it said in a statement.
