The art of the Indian-origin mandala has attracted the attention of many Syrian plastic artists, especially the young people, who were attracted by the dotting method and decorative circles because of the positive energy, creativity and special techniques that depend on focus, accuracy and successive geometric drawings.

Plastic artist Noha Zayoud presented, through her first solo exhibition, about 36 paintings based on “mandala” art, with different styles and techniques, circular shapes and various motifs, to the audience of the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh.

Noha explained in an interview with SANA reporter that the art of the mandala is old, but it has recently begun to spread in Syria through the Syrian youth who presented their creativity through various exhibitions and participations, noting that this type of art expresses the human relationship with the universe and the ocean, and we use in it geometric shapes and consecutive geometric motifs linked to each other to give A sense of organization and coordination and it is called the art of joy or the art of positive energy.

What distinguishes this art, according to Noha, is the possibility of using all tools such as the pencil, the inking with which she began her experiment, and the oil and acrylic colors, noting that we can use sand and firewood in this art.

Zayoud works in her paintings to have her own mark in this field by focusing on the circular shape of her entire work, in addition to certain details that depend on circles and points, such as drawing animals, inserting names, or decorating sea stones and seashells.

In turn, the head of the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, the plastic artist Rabab Ahmed, considered that the art of the mandala, a newcomer to the Syrian Czech scene, is a beautiful philosophical case within a visual vision, indicating that the artist, Noha Zayoud, was distinguished by a distinctive talent that attracted the visitors of the center because of the uniqueness of her exhibition and away from the ordinary.
