The corridors of the old Tartous Exhibition Hall were decorated with drawings presented by 55 talented children, adolescents and youth within various schools of plastic art such as realism, impressionism and classicism, in addition to Arabic calligraphy and copper pressure paintings.

Regarding the exhibition titled “The Jasmine Collar,” the plastic artist, Tammam Al-Mokadam, who organized the exhibition, explained in a statement to SANA that it is an invitation to joy in the spring days to be a new start for the participants from her own center for teaching drawing, where many of them participate for the first time and each of them presented more than About five works that varied between drawing with lead, wood and oil colors, in addition to burning on wood, pressing copper, paintings made of wool, and paper rolling.

In turn, Souad Mohamed, Head of the Plastic Artists Branch in Tartous, considered that art is a necessary health condition in society that exhibitions work to strengthen and develop the artistic taste of the artist and the recipient, as well as being an expression of the artist’s role and his integration into the issues of his community and expressing it according to his own artistic vision.

Among the participants in the exhibition is Rahaf Hussein, a tenth-grade student who spent three years learning the basics of drawing and pressing copper. She showed that drawing with wood colors is the closest to her artistic nature, in which she sees greater comfort and a better way of expression in drawing faces and nature.

Sixth-grade student Younes Khaddour chose to name his six works in which he participated in the method of pressing copper, including “Fading and Imagination on Water,” pointing to his other hobby of playing the lute, in which he achieved advanced positions in the pioneering pioneers competitions. With the school and securing the appropriate circumstance, it will lead to the creation of an active and creative generation.

Seventh-grade student, Samar Nasser, participated in a number of paintings using pencil and wood colors to present geometric drawings, in addition to paintings of colored woolen threads.

The child Ribal Ayouba in the second grade and his brother Firas from the third grade presented a set of drawings in different ways. They considered that the art of paper quilling is characterized by accuracy that develops thought and enriches learning methods and skills, while their father, Muntajab, stated that the primary role in discovering and developing the child’s talents rests with the parents by providing the atmosphere appropriate to them and follow up that talent with specialists.
