Against the background of the political crisis and preparations for the opening of the Knesset's summer conference, the government is convening today (Sunday) for its weekly meeting, and is expected to approve in an expedited procedure the budget for assistance to businesses and the self-employed affected during the Omicron wave.

At the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that when it comes to terrorism - there is no political consideration.

"All decisions regarding the Temple Mount and Jerusalem will be made by the Israeli government, which is the sovereign of the city, without any consideration of foreign considerations. We certainly reject any foreign interference in the decisions of the Israeli government."

Bennett's remarks come against the background of the clarification of the Prime Minister, MK Mansour Abbas, that he expects understandings in the context of the Temple Mount. Abbas updated Bennett and Lapid on this and until the agreements are reached with him, his party will continue the boycott of votes in the Knesset.

Bennett also congratulated the security forces on the arrest of the terrorists who carried out the attack in Elad.

"The perception of the terrorists is not enough in itself," he said.

"We are at the beginning of a new stage in the war on terror - it is impossible to incite and rest. It is impossible to throw a match and run away."

The demand for compensation for the self-employed on the Omicron wave is one of the demands made by Deputy Minister Avir Kara (right), as part of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's attempts to prevent his party from disintegrating after the retirement of Idit Silman last month.

Kara met at the time with Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who pledged to approve the outline after the return of the Knesset from recess.

The outline for the distribution of aid, totaling about NIS 1 billion, was published by the Ministry of Finance as early as February, and is now being presented as a memorandum of law for government approval and later to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation and the Knesset.

At the end of the week, another demand was met from the right-wing ultimatums, when Defense Minister Bnei Gantz announced the convening of the Supreme Planning Council to approve construction in the settlements, with MK Nir Orbach's demand to expedite the approvals. The dormitories for the students, the approval of the construction in the settlements and the connection of outposts to electricity. Finance Minister Lieberman has already agreed with him on the postponement of the dormitory outline for 2024, Security, it is also expected to approve the construction of about 1,500 housing units for Palestinians as well.

At the same time as the cabinet meeting, opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu will convene a meeting of opposition faction leaders at the Zeev Fortress to prepare for the return of the Knesset retreat and continued efforts to overthrow the government.

In the evening, a special meeting of party leaders and faction leaders in the coalition is expected to convene in the Knesset, to discuss preparations for the resumption of Knesset work, against the background of MK Idit Silman's resignation and the RAAM boycott of the coalition following the Temple Mount events.

Baram has not yet decided to cancel the freeze and currently does not intend to participate in the Knesset votes, and without them the coalition has no majority in the Knesset.
