Bulgaria has expressed its rejection of the European sanctions imposed on Russia, threatening the European Commission to veto the decision to ban Russian oil supplies unless it is postponed or exempted from it.
“We will not support sanctions, we will use the veto, and we want to be among the countries that will be granted a temporary exemption from the Russian oil embargo,” TASS news agency quoted Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Asen Vasiliev as saying in an interview with Bulgarian national television.
Oil is currently running.
Vasiliev stressed his country's adherence to its interests and its exclusion from the oil embargo, rejecting any manipulation of standards in this regard.
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev warned yesterday that prolonging the Ukrainian crisis would lead to dire economic consequences for Europe, describing his country's parliament's decision to send military aid to Kiev as "dangerous."
