An elderly woman at Repulse Bay Beach lay down under a tent and was sent to hospital in a coma.
The Hong Kong and Kowloon Life Saving Workers Association said that at 9:55 am today (8th) when lifeguards patrolled the beach, a swimmer informed that there was a woman who was suspected to be unconscious under the beach tent.
The lifeguard immediately notified the ambulance station for support, and checked the 79-year-old surnamed Kang's vital index. They found that she was in a coma, with breathing and pulse, and immediately started oxygen therapy and called the police.
The lifeguard found a piece of paper on the victim's body that read "I swallowed 120 sleeping pills".
The police received the report at 9:59 a.m., and ambulancemen also attended the scene and took the unconscious victim to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.
After preliminary investigation, the police believed that the victim had committed suicide by taking drugs and seized a suicide note at the scene.
It is understood that the victim has a record of emotional illness.
