Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts and its fans, who love human creativity, celebrated the 18th anniversary of its founding through an evening of classical music revived by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Misak Baghboudrian, who mixed Western and Eastern tunes, on the stage of the Opera Theater in Damascus.
The celebration began in the lobby of the house by displaying a group of posters of the most important events and activities that have been held in it since 2004, followed by the screening of a 4-minute film summarizing the course of the development of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, especially during the years of the war on Syria.
In the speech of the Ministry of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah touched on the position that Syria occupies in human creativity, from the creation of the first alphabet to the adoption of the female form as a symbol of creation, fertility and beauty, and the invocation of the first soliloquy chant and the germination of the first spike to spread its goodness throughout the world.
The Minister of Culture indicated that Dar al-Assad embodies a dream, will and hard work that lasted for decades to provide the best and open up to new horizons and spacious artistic worlds and to raise the artistic taste of audio and video without departing from heritage and originality, achieving the national civilizational project and implementing a wise long-term vision
It is a sound cultural policy that it continued to implement throughout the years of the war, after terrorism targeted it more than once, like other Syrian cultural and intellectual edifices.
For his part, the General Director of Dar Al-Assad, Maestro Andre Maalouli, reviewed the most important stations in the founding journey of the house and what it meant for the students of the Higher Institutes of Music and Dramatic Arts, which, as promised by the great late Salihi Al-Wadi, had become their home and the focus of their hopes, stressing that the house seeks to devote the message of love and culture and upgrading the Syrian culture through its creators in All fields to bring their products to the world.
As for the musical evening, in which Syrian opera singer Suzan Haddad and organist Aghid Mansour participated, a Syrian bouquet brought together two generations of academic musicians, the first who witnessed the establishment of Dar al-Assad and its official opening and participated in its activities and activities since its early years. their legacy.
The organ, which the house boasts as one of its treasures, was the star of the evening's opening with the musician Mansour, who presented pieces for the German composer Alexander Gelmann with the orchestra and solo.
The owner of the rare voice, Haddad, appeared to the audience through two songs: the first is Delilah from the opera “Samson and Delilah” titled “Support me, love, in my moments of weakness” by Cami Saint-Sains, and the song Carmen from the Carmen opera “Scydia” by French Georges Bizet.
The spirit of the founding father, Salhi al-Wadi, was present on the evening when the symphony troupe replayed his famous work “Reflections” on the melody of “My Life You” by Mohamed Abdel Wahab. .
The evening concluded by re-playing a piece that the Syrian symphony presented at the opening of Dar al-Assad 18 years ago, and it is one of the most enthusiastic and violent classical pieces, “the closing stanza from the opening of 1812 by Tchaikovsky.”
The evening was attended by Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Hallaq, Secretary of the Damascus Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Husam al-Samman, Mohsen Ghazi, the Syndicate of Artists in Syria, and a crowd of media professionals, artists and interested parties.
