The office of the representative of the Donetsk People's Republic in the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination of the Ceasefire announced that the Ukrainian forces bombed the Petrovsky neighborhood in the city of Donetsk with heavy-caliber shells.
"Ukrainian forces fired 4 shells of 122 mm caliber at Petrovsky neighborhood of the city," the office said in a statement posted on the Telegram website.
Petrovsky district is located to the west of Donetsk, the capital of the People's Republic, and is the furthest part of the city from the center.
The area, starting from the line of contact outside the city of Marinka since 2014, when the Donetsk Republic declared its independence from Kyiv, has been subjected to regular bombardment by Ukrainian forces.
Yesterday, the representative of the People's Republic announced that five civilians were injured as a result of the bombing of the Kirovsky and Petrovsky neighborhoods of Donetsk by Ukrainian forces.
