Heilbrunn gets under the wheels in Sonthofen with 0:7

Sonthofen/Bad Heilbrunn – When a goalkeeper who concedes seven goals is still the best player, that speaks volumes.

It indicates that the people of Heilbrunn "weren't mentally on the pitch" when they lost 7-0 at 1. FC Sonthofen on Saturday, says coach Walter Lang.

"I'm happy to stand in front of the team, but this time I'm just disappointed with the performance."

"But I didn't expect that we would go down like this," admits the Heilbrunn coach.

The SV Bad Heilbrunn has now slipped to a direct relegation zone.

HSV keeper Christoph Hüttl prevented an even worse defeat.

"But we lost the game after fifteen minutes anyway," says Lang.

After just two minutes, the guests received a penalty kick because Florian Schnitzlbaumer and his defense cleared the ball extremely clumsily – 0:1.

And a little later, Peter Auer ran a wide cross, Marc Penz scored to make it 2-0.

Long: "That was actually the end."

The 0:3 - only a matter of time

Hüttl kept the Heilbrunner in the game for almost an hour.

Lang switched to a three-man defense chain for a little more pressure up front.

And Heilbrunn even had a few chances to score.

"But to say that the game was balanced would be an exaggeration." No pressure on the goal, mentally too slow, the passes didn't arrive.

Lang has no explanation for this.

"The pressure was off, we could have played relatively relaxed, but some players were completely off track that day." And Sonthofen have already shown that they can play football really well, admits Lang.

And so the 0: 3, which Tom Liebherr (71st) finally got, was only a matter of time.

Level with the tail light

"After that, morale was down," says Lang.

"One wished that the whistle would be blown soon." Because in the final phase, the hosts combined almost without resistance through the Heilbrunn ranks, scored four more goals and made the swatter perfect for HSV.

"A wasted day," says Lang.

And a day when things really get serious when it comes to staying up: After Cosmos Aystetten surprisingly defeated Illertissen, fifth in the table, the Heilbrunners are now tied on points with the previous bottom team.
