The President of the Russian Republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov announced that the Russian forces liberated the city of Popasnaya in the Lugansk People's Republic.
“The entire city of Popasnaya has come under the control of our special units, and the industrial complex in Popasnaya has been cleared of the Ukrainian forces entrenched there,” Russia Today channel quoted Kadyrov as saying during a call with his assistant for security affairs, Daniil Martynov, in the Donbass region.
Kadyrov described Popasnaya as an important and difficult strategic town in which the Ukrainians have consolidated their positions over the years.
