The FDP federal chairman Christian Lindner emphasized the key role of Schleswig-Holstein's CDU Prime Minister Daniel Günther for the state election result.
"There were no state elections in Schleswig-Holstein today, there was a Günther election," said Lindner on Sunday evening at the FDP headquarters in Berlin.
As the most popular prime minister in Germany, Günther achieved outstanding electoral success.
Berlin – Linder said in the evening on ZDF about the performance of his party in Schleswig-Holstein: “Now the FDP is up to the average results of the past decades.
More would have been desirable, but at least this.” The FDP leader emphasized that there was a “bourgeois majority of the center of the Union and FDP” in the north.
