New storm front approaching Bavaria: DWD warns of severe storms and heavy rain

At the weekend, the weather in Bavaria presented itself in two halves: Especially in the south, there should be heavy thunderstorms and heavy rain.

The north gets off much lighter.

Munich – Grey, wet, windy and rainy: the weekend in the Free State has so far presented itself from its uncomfortable side.

A look at the weather forecast shows that this will not change that quickly - in most regions.

In the course of the day, the German Weather Service (DWD) announces again some heavy thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Weather in Bavaria: DWD warns of severe thunderstorms and continuous rain

Severe storms, including heavy rain and small-grain hail, are already brewing in southern Bavaria from midday.

In addition, a stormy wind is blowing, with speeds of around 60 kilometers per hour.

However, the DWD makes it clear: Heavy rain can also occur away from the thunderstorms.

For the eastern edge of the Alps, the meteorologists are announcing continuous rain for Saturday evening.

Within a short time it can rain 30 liters per square meter here.

Rainy weather will dominate most of Bavaria at the weekend.

The screen should not be forgotten here.

While in the south of the Free State the umbrella is probably the most important accessory of the weekend, the north fares much better.

Because there should be a lot of sun from noon onwards.

Another plus point: With highs of 15 to 23 degrees, Saturday will remain pleasant throughout Bavaria, at least in terms of temperature.

The weather situation on Sunday remains similar: The greatest risk of thunderstorms and rain is again in the southern foothills, on the Alps and in the low mountain range.

In the night to Monday, the showers also subside in the Alps - and the temperatures drop to eleven to five degrees.
