Prien: day of great joy for the CDU

Schleswig-Holstein's Education Minister Karin Prien described her party's performance in the state elections in the northernmost state as a huge success for the CDU.

"First of all, it's a day of great joy for us - and you wouldn't believe it - I could shatter because it's really a huge success for us, but especially for Daniel Günther," said Prien on ARD.

Kiel - Prien did not want to commit himself to the question of possible coalitions.

"We'll say after the election what we said before the election, Jamaica was and is our ideal alliance." One has to wait and see the numbers, everything is still very preliminary.

Then it is a question of respect to enter into discussions with the coalition partners.

The clear victory of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein is also tailwind for the upcoming state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia.
