First Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma Alexei Chiba denounced the United States' imposition of sanctions on the Russian channels "Al-Oula and Rossiya 1 and NTV", stressing that these sanctions are a complete destruction of the alleged principles of American democracy.
In a statement to RT Today, Chiba said, "These actions against Russian TV channels are a complete destruction of the principles of democracy, which has always been one of the pillars that the Americans force the whole world to follow," noting that the Americans are trying to silence journalists' voices through such sanctions.
Chiba explained that one of the American missions is to destabilize the country and push citizens to protests. For this purpose, the information war has been and has been raging for several years, noting that the Americans made every effort to portray Russia as an aggressor, and therefore all measures were taken so that its information and opinion did not reach the No political and economic issues to the people who live in the West.
