Spahn: CDU could experience double success in May

Union faction leader Jens Spahn sees the CDU on the upswing after the clear electoral success in Schleswig-Holstein.
With a view to the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia next Sunday, Spahn said on the ARD that he was “optimistic that it can be a double, a double success in May: today the start in Kiel, next week in Düsseldorf”.
Berlin – He sees a lot of support for the local CDU Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst and his course in recent years.
After the years governed by the SPD and the Greens, the CDU made “a difference” in the federal state – for example in terms of internal security and economic growth.

The strong performance of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein on Sunday is a "wonderful result" and a "huge vote of confidence" for the incumbent Prime Minister Daniel Günther and the CDU in the north, said the Christian Democrat.
