Ten months since the government was sworn in, the 24th Knesset summer conference will open tomorrow (Monday) and only one question is floating in the air: Will the coalition survive even though it has not had a majority in the Knesset since MK Idit Silman resigned or is the battle more than ever? Agreed to promote only social and security bills that have a clear majority and to avoid unnecessary political friction but in the face of the opposition's determination and internal confrontations with the right and the RAAM - the hourglass is running out.

The first test is expected as early as next Wednesday, so the opposition is considering taking advantage of the RAAM boycott of the coalition and promoting a vote on the law to dissolve the Knesset in a preliminary reading. Chances are the government will end its days through internal confrontations within the coalition but there are two main options in which the government can reach the end of its path: a new government in the current Knesset or dissolution and exit for elections.

Dispersal of the Knesset

Maybe Lapid will become prime minister?

In order to dissolve the Knesset, the opposition needs to recruit another retiree besides MK Silman. In recent weeks, the Likud has tried to persuade almost every Knesset member in parties such as the right, New Hope and Ra'am.

Many suggestions were made to each of them, but no persuasion call has borne fruit so far.

The first test is expected this coming Wednesday.

The identity of the retirees has a meaning that will determine the identity of the prime minister during the election period.

If the Knesset is dissolved because of two Knesset members from Bennett's bloc, Lapid will automatically become prime minister until a new government is sworn in in Israel.

If, alternatively, those who will overthrow the government are representatives of Lapid's bloc, such as members of the Knesset of Ram - Bennett will continue to serve in his position.

Alternative Government Without Elections

Will the ultra-Orthodox destroy Netanyahu?

There are disagreements in the opposition, and in Torah Judaism, for example, they insist on avoiding elections and forming a new government in the current Knesset, even at a price that Netanyahu will not head.

In any case, in order to form a new government, the opposition needs more than one or two defectors - but the alliance of a large and significant faction like New Hope or Blue and White.

The leaders of the two parties - Gideon Saar and Bnei Gantz - rejected any proposal that landed on the doorstep of their office last month, and its goal was to form an alternative government.

The government survives without a majority

Peace begins inside

It will be difficult for the government to survive without a majority in the Knesset.

In such a situation, it would be difficult to advance legislation in committees or in the Knesset plenum, and despite this, coalition leaders believe that without too significant internal conflicts it will be possible to survive for at least two months, and perhaps even longer.

The party leaders and factions agreed on advancing legislation that has a majority and in agreement with the other parties, assuming it would be easier but until then Bennett and Lapid must please the PM with whom the crisis may have started under control but in the absence of agreements, may also become irreversible.
