Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will soon visit Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatib Zada said at a news conference on Monday.
According to him, the emir's visit to Tehran comes against the background of international, regional and bilateral issues.
He further noted that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will then visit the country in the Gulf without mentioning its name.
Recall that recently the fifth round of dialogue took place between Iran and Saudi Arabia and Baghdad.
A source told Reuters earlier this week that Tamim Ben Hemed was expected to visit Iran before his trip to Germany, Britain and other European countries to discuss efforts to revive the nuclear deal and energy security in Europe.
The source added that the emir's political campaign was intended to bring the parties to the nuclear agreement to an "equal valley."
Meanwhile, the Irena news agency reported that the emir is expected to visit a high-level political and economic delegation to monitor political and economic agreements reached between the two countries during the Iranian president's visit to Qatar last February.
The reports come amid a visit tomorrow (Tuesday) to Tehran by the EU commissioner for nuclear talks.
Talks have recently come to a dead end in light of Tehran's demand from Washington to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the list of foreign terrorist organizations.
The last time the Qatari emir visited Iran was in January 2020. So the purpose of the trip was to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran in the wake of the assassination of Quds Force commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Suleimani, in Iraq.
