A 65-year-old Ashkelon resident was arrested today (Monday) on suspicion of sending Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's family the two threatening letters containing gunshots.

About two weeks ago, security officials in the Prime Minister's Office decided to step up security for Bennett's family, following the threatening letter.

This, after one of them aimed at his son, Jonathan.

In August, an indictment was filed against a 45-year-old man from Kiryat Gat, who called the police station and threatened to harm Bennett.

Lachish police located the man in Kiryat Gat, and during the interrogation he linked himself to the incident and confirmed that he planned to harm the prime minister.
