The chairman of the Palestinian Authority, Abu Mazen, today (Monday) hosted in his office in the Muqata the family members of the terrorist Karim Yunis, who is imprisoned in Israel for the murder of soldier Avraham Bromberg.
The reception was held for them as a tribute to the death of Younes' mother, an Israeli Arab from Ma'ara in the Triangle, a veteran Fatah prisoner whose sentence for Bromberg's murder was set at 40 years.
During the meeting, Abu Mazen presented the family with a medal of honor of the "State of Palestine" for Younes' mother, Sabihah Yunes, who passed away a few days ago.
Several members of the Fatah Central Committee were present.
The mother was called a "patriotic warrior," and Jonas was nicknamed "the commander and the great hero."
Abu Mazen, for his part, expressed hope that Younes would be released soon.
The award was given to her for "her ongoing struggle, suffering, long-suffering and standing for four decades in the face of the occupation, which made her a symbol of the struggle of the families of Palestinian prisoners," it was reported.
A mourning tent was also erected in her honor today in Ramallah.

Last January, he gave a warm welcome to Latifa Abu Hamid, the mother of the terrorist Islam Abu Hamid who killed the Cherry Warrior, Ronen Lubarski, four years ago, during an operation in the Al-Amari refugee camp near Ramallah.
Several of her other sons were sentenced to life in prison.
One of them, 'Abd al-Na'aman, murdered GSS coordinator Noam Cohen in 1994.

It will be recalled that so far Abu Mazen has refrained from condemning attacks across the Green Line and his condemnation of the latest attack in Elad was weak, so he noted that killing Peles civilians and Israelis would only lead to further deterioration at a time when "we all strive to achieve stability and prevent escalation."
