At about 8 pm on May 9, a middle-aged man in Xia Kui Building, Kwai Chung Village, climbed out of the window from the kitchen of the unit and sat on the pipe on the outer wall. The situation was full of dangers. His wife was shocked and called the police immediately.

The police and fire department arrived at the scene. The man was seen sitting at the window of the unit on the 20th floor. There were at least 4 fire trucks and 3 police cars on guard downstairs of the building. However, due to the narrow ground environment, the air cushion could not be deployed.

Rescue workers probed out of the window of the unit and were lobbying the male victim. There were also firefighters on guard at the unit on the first floor upstairs.

At about 4:43 a.m. on May 10, the man suddenly climbed down the canal, stumbled and fell off the platform of the building.

The ambulancemen who were on guard at the scene immediately stepped forward to give first aid to the victim and rushed him to Tsuen Wan Yan Chai Hospital, where he was in a coma.

It was initially learned that the male victim, surnamed Chen, was 66 years old.

Police are investigating the incident and the cause of death.

The police said that at 8:36 p.m. on the 9th, they received a report from the wife of the male victim, saying that the male victim was found sitting at the position of the water pipe on the outer wall of a unit in Xia Kui Building, Kwai Chung Village.

Officers arrived at the scene, and the male victim climbed down about 40 meters along the outer wall and fell to the platform. He was unconscious and was sent to Yan Chai Hospital for treatment and was confirmed dead.

Police did not seize a suicide note at the scene.

The cause of death of the deceased is to be determined after an autopsy.
