Occupied Jerusalem-SANA

Palestinian Justice Minister Muhammad al-Shalaldeh confirmed that the forced displacement of Palestinians by the Israeli occupation authorities, most recently announcing a plan to demolish 12 villages in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron in the West Bank, and displace thousands of Palestinians, amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity.

And the Palestinian Wafa news agency quoted Shalaldeh as saying in today’s statements: “The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is required to open an immediate investigation into the crimes of the occupation in order to hold those responsible to account and to compel the occupation to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost of which is UN Resolution 2334 of 2016, which confirms the illegality of settlements and calls for its cessation. “.

Shalaldeh stressed the need to activate the principle of universal jurisdiction, which is based on the text of Article 146 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, to call on the parties’ states for an immediate meeting to compel Israel to respect and implement international conventions.

Shalaldeh called on the international community to provide full support to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinians in Masafer Yatta and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories in facing the plans of the Judaizing occupation.
