A 33-year-old woman was stabbed to death on Sunday outside her home in Grézieu-la-Varenne (Rhône), a murder of which her ex-companion is suspected, we learned Monday, May 9 from the prosecution of Lyon, confirming information from Progress.

The suspect went at 10 p.m. to the Vaulx-en-Velin police station, about twenty kilometers from Grézieu-la-Varenne, where he was immediately placed in police custody, the prosecution told AFP.
The couple, separated for several weeks, had four common children aged 13, 10, 6 and 4 years old.
Three of them were at their mother's home at the time of the incident, around 6:30 p.m., and were taken care of at the Woman-Mother-Children Hospital (HFME) in Bron, according to the same source.
Local residents alerted the police.
The investigation opened by the Lyon prosecutor's office on the count of murder by spouse was entrusted to the research brigade of l'Arbresle.
A helicopter and dog teams had been mobilized for the search.
