Thousands of students in the colleges and institutes of the Euphrates University branch in Al-Hasakah governorate are preparing to apply for the first semester session next Saturday, amid great satisfaction among the parents, teaching staff and the concerned authorities in the governorate.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research suspended exams and classes in Al-Hasakah colleges and institutes about 3 months ago due to the violations of the “Qasd” militia and its seizure of college buildings and the destruction of the headquarters of the Faculties of Civil Engineering and Economics by the American occupation forces.

In statements to a SANA reporter in al-Hasakah, a number of college students indicated that what the “Qasd militia” is practicing against education is a crime that must stop and deter anyone who tries to tamper with the future of the people of the region, pointing out that the militia has seized schools and deprived thousands of students of their academic seats and imposed curricula according to its agendas. The malicious attempt to obscure the generation and implant ideas far removed from the Syrian society and its culture.

A number of students focused on the negative effects that the decision to transfer the university would have if the militia did not comply with the residents' demands to hand over the headquarters of the Faculties of Civil Engineering and Economics, which would entail heavy financial burdens on many families.

A number of students of the faculties of economics and civil engineering indicated that what happened was planned in advance in implementation of American agendas aimed at seizing the headquarters of the faculties of civil engineering and economics and university facilities near the industrial secondary prison for the benefit of the American occupation forces, which clearly seek to remove the people from their headquarters and areas of presence that Captured with the help of the "Qasd" militia.

For his part, head of the Student Union branch in Hasaka, Alaa Al-Talaa, said: The resumption of exams after a 90-day hiatus came out of the state's keenness to continue the educational process in the governorate and not to transfer students to other governorates and incur financial losses and travel trouble.

Al-Tala’a stressed that there is no alternative to restoring the headquarters of the Faculties of Civil Engineering and Economics and working to find an alternative headquarters for the Engineering Technical Institute and the Tourism Institute, which were completely destroyed due to the American aggression, calling for intervention and pressure on the militia to restore the headquarters as soon as possible in order to ensure the students’ future and complete their educational path.
