The state elections in Schleswig-Holstein have taken place - and in all camps it was then about one man in particular.
The incumbent Günther has again significantly expanded his success from 2017.
43.4 percent - for the CDU, this is the best result in Schleswig-Holstein since 1983.

With 18.3 percent, the party makes the jump to second place and is correspondingly satisfied.

The FDP, in turn, suffered heavy losses, with 6.1 percent, the share of votes has almost halved.

But the decision is not up to them.
And on the evening of his triumph, Günther kept his options open.
