Among the steps: a standby of 669 and the operation of skimmers that will broadcast in real time to the HFK

Against the background of the security situation, the police are preparing for the Rashbi celebration in Meron, which will take place on Lag B'Omer.

Thousands of policemen, border fighters and other forces will work to enable the event to take place, ensuring the peace and security of the celebrants, maintaining public order and directing traffic, to make it easier for visitors to reach the place and minimize disruption to the area's routine.

Among other things, contractual measures will be used during the celebration, such as skimmers that will transmit photos in real time to the district HFK. Possibility of an emergency or multi-casualty.

Either way, the police and those responsible for the revelry are doing whatever it takes to make the event go smoothly.

This year, in contrast to previous years and subject to the interim conclusions of the Commission of Inquiry into the disaster that occurred last year, a project manager and producer were appointed for the celebration, and they bear responsibility for the early preparation, the course of the celebration and the order of forces on the mountain.

Expect 150,000 people

The arrival of about 150,000 people is expected.

Some of the revelers claim that those who come to Meron this year will probably have a hard time getting to know the mountain - in recent weeks, due to strict safety rules, dilapidated infrastructure, tents, huts and unsafe buildings were destroyed - including a bear bridge, which killed 45 people last year. And hundreds were injured.

Either way, unlike previous years you will be allowed to be on the mountain of 16,000 people at a time, and they will change every four hours.

The means to identify who is supposed to be on the mountain and who is not is bracelets in different colors, which will be distributed to each group.

How to get there

In addition, in order to control the entry of people into the mountain, public buses will first be directed to "regulation parking lots."

In the parking lots, it will be checked whether the passengers on the bus are equipped with tickets.

From there the buses will travel to the "Final Parking Lot", where the amount of people on the mountain will be checked, and more accordingly the bus passengers will get off and go up the mountain.

Private buses will be directed to the "Kahal parking lot", from which passengers will be transported to the "Ein Hozim" parking lot, which will be used as a parking lot until space becomes available, and they will be allowed to reach the Meron complex.

"Sometimes the gifts will take a long time, so the audience that will arrive will have to be patient," say the organizers of the celebration.

"This is a challenging event," police say, arguing that the authority to limit the amount of crowds on the mountain is in accordance with regulations signed by the ministers of internal security, religions and interiors.

"I hope that the majority of the normative public will behave properly in accordance with safety considerations, and that the police will have legal legitimacy to prevent those who do not have to arrive, from reaching the scene," the police conclude.
