The Agricultural Scientific Research Center, in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Raqqa and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), held a field day in the liberated countryside of Raqqa on capacity building related to the implementation of the program to support seeds and new varieties of wheat.
The head of the Agricultural Research Center in Raqqa, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khalaf, said in a statement to SANA that the research center is working to inform farmers directly about the productivity of the new varieties of the wheat crop and to spread their cultivation instead of the traded ones, and to introduce the agricultural services provided to farmers.
The head of the Farmers Union in Raqqa, Abdullah Al-Rifai, pointed out the importance of effectiveness in introducing the cultivated varieties and the effects of weather factors on them, and choosing the variety that suits the land according to the agricultural settlement area.
