According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an international NGO based in New York, seven journalists (including three Ukrainians) have been killed in Ukraine while covering the war against Russia since February 24.

The association is investigating the deaths of five other Ukrainian journalists to confirm that their deaths are indeed linked to the exercise of their profession.

The Pulitzer Prizes, administered by Columbia University in northern Manhattan, also awarded several prizes for its 106th edition to a wide range of the American press for their coverage of local, national and international news in 2021.

Among these award-winning media, the New York Times (NYT), one of the world's leading newspapers, won three prizes.

Honor also for the regional press in the United States with, among many awards, a Pulitzer "investigative journalism" for the Tampa Bay Times for an investigation into the pollution and toxic risks of a battery recycling plant in Florida .
