The Russian ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, declared that the West has always ignored Russia's just demands to establish an equal and indivisible security system.
Today, TASS news agency quoted Antonov as saying: “Russia has always defended an equal and indivisible security system, but no one in the West wanted to listen to these just and justified demands of Russia regarding security guarantees. On the contrary, NATO countries worked to create a threat on the Russian borders.” .
Antonov stressed that Moscow could not leave the Donbass region to be torn apart by the neo-Nazis in Ukraine, pointing out that the decisive measures taken by Russia were forced on it and came at the right time to preemptively respond to the aggression.
Antonov stressed that protecting the country remains the most important task and that Russia has faced an additional external security challenge directly on its borders.
