The department of Seine-Maritime was condemned Tuesday in correctional in Rouen for having exposed four agents to asbestos in 2015, according to the CGT and the community.
According to the union, the department will have to pay 3,000 euros in damages to each of the four agents.

The court condemned the departmental council for “
endangering the lives of others
” but without imposing a fine, according to the CGT.
The community will have to display this decision on union panels for a month, according to the same source.

The supply of equipment “refused”
According to the direct summons, of which AFP had a copy, these agents, during an intervention from April 14 to 17, 2015 on river vessels, "

plaques and dust containing asbestos without any protective equipment to put them in garbage bags

denied provision of personal protective equipment

The facts took place in Caudebec-en-Caux, about forty km northwest of Rouen.
The procedure follows a complaint from the CGT.
