Diesel suddenly out: huge fright for drivers at the gas station

Motorists in Bad Tölz were wide-eyed on Sunday: Diesel fuel was no longer available at some gas stations in the city.

Some therefore went to Lenggries and Bad Heilbrunn.

Bad Tölz – In this country it is extremely rare that there is no more fuel at petrol stations.

In Bad Tölz on Sunday, numerous motorists were confronted with the problem that several gas stations ran out of diesel fuel.

Many were unsettled and worried.

The petrol pumps were affected by the large corporations Agip and Jet as well as by the independent operator "pur".

“There was no structural bottleneck.

It was a phenomenon limited to Bad Tölz," reports Niels Wick, press officer of "Jet Germany".

All other Jet filling stations in the region were not affected.

On Saturday there was "an unexpectedly above-average sales of diesel fuel" in Bad Tölz, reports Wick.

It wasn't the price.

The supplies could only be delivered on Monday night.

The problem also seems to have another cause: "It is very noticeable that there is currently no gas station in Tölz," says Matteo Nardella, lessee of the Agip gas station on Lenggrieser Straße.

As reported, the Aral gas station on Sachsenkamer Straße is currently being rebuilt and is scheduled to reopen at the end of June.

"There are also a lot of tourists right now," says Nardella.

Customers were very upset on Sunday that he no longer had diesel.

At least the new delivery came faster than expected - on Monday afternoon and not only in the evening Agip had this fuel again.

Johannes Fritz, operator of the two "pur" filling stations on Ludwigstrasse and Farchet, lowered the price of diesel to 1.91 euros per liter on Sunday - and demand suddenly rose.

"It was overwhelming," says the Tölzer.

"You can see again how much people look at the tank apps."

The 50,000 liters of diesel that he could offer on Ludwigstrasse were gone by the evening.

"But there was something else at the Farchet," reports Fritz.

As an independent operator, he can reorder more quickly, so that by Monday night stocks were full again everywhere.

Diesel from gas station: Insecure citizens drive to Lenggries and Heilbrunn

The problem quickly became apparent at the other petrol stations in and around Bad Tölz on Sunday.

At the Total filling station (in the direction of Lenggries), the tenant saw greater demand than usual, but he did not run out of fuel.

Florian Zens reports something similar from the gas station of the same name in Lenggries.

“But we always had diesel,” says Zens.

Out of panic, the diesel fuel might not be available for a few days, some even drove to Bad Heilbrunn to fill up with diesel at Shell or "mw".

"We were told that the diesel was out in Tölz," reports one of the employees.

But they didn't have any problems.
