For "dangerous situations": Test alarm in Bavaria - with sirens, loudspeakers and warning apps

On Thursday it will be loud in the Free State: At 11 a.m. sirens, loudspeakers and warning apps will sound.

The test alarm is used for practice and function testing.

Munich – The Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration has announced a Bavaria-wide test alarm for Thursday, May 12th.

This includes sirens, loudspeakers and warning apps.

At 11 a.m. the functioning of the warning devices is to be tested.

Another purpose of the large-scale test alarm is to familiarize the population with the warning system.

The Ministry writes in its flyer: "In addition, the population should be informed about the importance of siren warnings through the test alarm."

Warnings are also played out via the various warning apps, with the State Ministry citing NINA as an example.

Incidentally, no sirens will be heard in Munich.

The simple reason: there are no more warning systems, they were all dismantled over time.

The test alarm will only sound in the communities of Neubiberg and Ottobrunn.

On Thursday, the motto for the whole of Bavaria is: Don't be alarmed when sirens suddenly sound at 11 a.m. and various disaster warning apps react.
