The joint Iraqi forces launched today a security operation to hunt down the remnants of the terrorist organization "ISIS" on the outskirts of Khanaqin district, Diyala governorate, in the east of the country.
And the Popular Mobilization Directorate stated in a statement today that "a joint force has started a raid and search operation in the areas of Aliyawa, Bustan Badriya, Toufan, and the areas adjacent to the Alwand River on the outskirts of Khanaqin."
The statement added that the operation was launched according to intelligence information that the terrorist organization "ISIS" attempted to infiltrate to target the security of citizens within the sector responsible for it through the aforementioned areas.
And the Iraqi forces arrested two terrorists yesterday, one in Baghdad and the other in Dujail in Salah al-Din Governorate in the center of the country.
